Berlin, Germany’s capital both old and new, greets its guests with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. There are a variety of cultural sights to be discovered, e.g. the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Alexanderplatz, Museum Island (feat. the world-renowned Pergamon Museum) and the Nikolai district. In 2010 there is a very special highlight: Exactly 300 years ago, in 1710, Europe's first porcelain manufatory was founded in Meissen, after Böttger had discoverd the secret of the "White gold" in Dresden. The Dresden Porcelain Collection and the Stadtmuseum Berlin use this as an occasion to create the special exhibition "The Fascination of Fragility. Masterpieces of European Porcelain." at the Ephraim Palace in Berlin.
